A PE teacher has listed the nine foods she eats daily for good health and a lean, toned physique – and the diet motto she swears to her family.
Belinda Norton, 45, from the Gold Coast, said she loves eating ‘ground and sea grown’ foods like salmon, carrots, brown rice and broccoli.
She also embraces this approach for her children – making sure their breakfasts, lunches and dinners are filled with “real, whole foods” that promote good health.

“Did you know that foods grown in soil and foods from seawater have a higher mineral content than any other food source?” Belinda posted on Instagram.
“I eat food from the land and the sea every day.”
The nine foods you should incorporate into your diet are fish, whole carrots, homemade muesli, oranges, avocados, green vegetables, salad, broccoli, brown rice, and quinoa.
Belinda also eats a whole raw carrot and two cucumbers a day.
When she eats them, she does not peel or cut them, but washes them and eats them whole.
“Earth-grown organic whole foods provide our bodies with the nutrients and minerals that no other product can provide,” Belinda said.
“They are inexpensive, they also encourage chewing, they are perfectly dosed to nourish and maintain energy.”
Belinda added that the fiber in carrots helps control blood sugar, while consuming cucumbers hydrates the body and leads to health benefits, including “weight loss, balanced hydration, digestive regularity and lower blood sugar”.

The PE teacher also shared what she calls the ‘magic eraser’ she swears by when she feels lethargic, and she said it ‘speeds up the body, inflames those blood cells and gets them spinning. with enthusiasm”.
The PE teacher shared what she calls the “magic eraser” she uses when she feels lazy.
The 45-year-old said that instead of ‘slowing down and resting’ when you feel tired, you should ‘speed up the body, ignite those blood cells and get them swirling around in your body with enthusiasm’.
“Slow gum response is the opposite of rest,” Belinda said. “Speed up the body and that feeling of slowness goes away.”
Belinda said she will try to do some form of cardio every day, whether it’s a walk along the beach, a swim or running reps.
She recommends adding “sprints, speed cycle reps, and jump squats” to your workouts, and setting timers to help you reach your goals and reach greater heights.

Previously, Belinda explained why her number one secret was to “train and eat like a girl.”
“We have a very different biological body composition than men, which is why our bodies react differently to training and racing,” Belinda wrote.
“When we focus on loving and caring for our biological female body, we are more likely to find a successful routine for overall wellness.”
Belinda explained that one of the main differences between training as a man and training as a woman is that women are “born endurance athletes who can handle a higher pain threshold.”
Belinda recommends recognizing the female monthly cycle when it comes to your training and doing workouts based on it.
For example, you might feel stronger and able to lift more weight or run longer when you’re on your period, but in the days leading up to your period, you might want to do a gentler workout like yoga.
‘Strength training will always improve your health mobility [as a woman]she says.
‘Add a set of 5-7 kg speed circuits to improve your muscle strength and mobility.’

When it comes to diet, Belinda said the most important thing as a woman is to limit the sugars you include in your daily diet.
Although you might not think you are eating a lot of sugar, in her experience, women around the world don’t pay attention to hidden sugars in their foods and drinks, which often leads to weight gain as they age. .
“The most powerful for me is alcohol,” Belinda said.
“Especially my love of champagne. I try to drink only one night a week, either Friday or Saturday. A drink at an event counts and adds up.
The 45-year-old said that if she drinks more than that, not only does it dramatically affect her sleep, mood and bodily functions, but she also begins to “lack focus” and a “little pot belly” appears.
“As we age, our bodies respond differently to how it was used and especially how it uses sugar,” Belinda said.
“The older we get, the less muscle mass we maintain. Over time, our BMR [basal metabolic rate] drops, which means we burn fewer calories at rest.
“Sugar not only brings major ups and downs in mood and energy, it can also disrupt one of the most powerful hormones in the body: insulin.”
An increase in insulin leads to the production of testosterone, she said, which is then converted into estrogen and fatty tissue in the belly.
The best way to avoid this, she added, is to make sure you’re eating and drinking cleanly 80% of the time.
