STEPH: everyone. My name is Steph and I welcome you to In The Know: Game On, where we’ll dive into the hottest trends in gaming across multiple platforms and products. Starting a PC version can be a bit daunting. There are so many parts and brands on the market, how do you know which one to choose? Today we’re talking about PC must-haves and what you can expect when building your custom PC build.
With me today is Arpit Manaktala, CEO and Founder of Paradox Custom. Welcome Arpit. We are delighted to have you here today.
ARPIT MANAKTALA: Thank you for inviting me. I’m so excited. This is a first for me and I’m happy to talk about PC.
STEPH: I love it. Well, you can start by telling us a bit about Paradox Customs.
ARPIT MANAKTALA: Paradox Customs is a PC building company. We prioritize gaming and esports, but as a PC company, we make PCs for editing stations, workstations, and all sorts of different workloads.
STEPH: I know you do a lot of custom builds for celebrities, so what is it, what does it do?
ARPIT MANAKTALA: It’s honestly a dream come true. Like my hobbies growing up, it was hip hop and basketball and most of the celebrities we do these days are some of the biggest celebrities in those two fields.
STEPH: Putting together your custom PC build can be quite daunting. Do you have any tips for those looking to start their own custom build?
ARPIT MANAKTALA: In terms of PC building, first watch a video on how to build something. The main components needed are the CPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, graphics card, case, and power supply.
STEPH: So, Arpit, I see you’ve brought us quite a game today. Can we dive?
ARPIT MANAKTALA: Absolutely. So the object that is right in front of us is a fairly common object. So if you’re a popular streamer, you probably own one. It’s the GoXLR.
Streamers don’t use USB mics anymore, do they? So you need to use something like a shirt mic, which uses an XLR cable, so you need an interface like this where you can plug in your shirt mic and you also need to connect your PC to hear.
STEPH: Alright, next I see ASTRO Gaming Headphones. I just received a pair. Can you educate me?
ARPIT MANAKTALA: ASTRO gaming, in my opinion, they make the best headsets. And they’ve been around since the beginning of esports, I’m talking like Halo 3, 2007. They’re custom ASTROs. They call their program the ASTRO ID where you can customize speaker colors, stitching and labels. We have Paradox speaker beacons in there.
STEPH: Talk to me. What is it here?
ARPIT MANAKTALA: So I brought the RTX 3090 from NVIDIA. This is, basically, the most high-end graphics card you can get. And it’s going to hold you back, especially if you’re playing in 4K or 1440p, it’s amazing. I brought two of the most popular controllers and they are from two different companies.
STEPH: OKAY.
ARPIT MANAKTALA: So the one closest to you is the all black Battle Beaver PS5 controller. They have buttons in the back rather than paddles. And when you have buttons like you can press them so many times and so fast.
The other controller is the SCUF controller, this is the SCUF Impact. So it’s shaped like a PS4 controller, but it’s got its own shape. And it is also one of the most popular controllers.
STEPH: What do we have here, this Intel?
ARPIT MANAKTALA: So it’s the most high-end processor right now, it’s the Intel i9-12900K. It’s a 16-core, which is like the first time Intel has created a mainstream 16-core CPU.
STEPH: So what about this beauty here, this gorgeous colorful thing?
ARPIT MANAKTALA: This is just a high end build. He has a 3090, he has the AMD Ryzen 5950X, which is the best Ryzen processor. We have 32 GB of that high-speed RAM that I was telling you about, it’s 3,600 megahertz. We have these RGB cables called Lian Li strimers, which are a hot commodity. And we have 10 Lian Li UNI fans.
STEPH: Alright, Arpit. Thank you so much for showing us how the professionals do it. It was a pleasure to have you here today.
ARPIT MANAKTALA: Thank you so much.
STEPH: Building your own PC is truly an art and can give you an unparalleled gaming experience. I hope this episode helped demystify the construction process for you. I’m Steph and this is In The Know: Game On. For more episodes like this, be sure to check out intheknow.com Peace.
