Dead Space Remake Exploit earns you infinite cash and ammo

Motive Studio dead space remake is a slow and bloody race to victory, which could be made easier by a spotted exploit by a Reddit user earlier this week.

The exploit allows players to whip out endless pulse rifle ammo to trade for cash, a process one Reddit commenter remembers using with the Detonator weapon in Dead space 2. Although the Motive remake made some changes to dead space, it seems that the useful exploit of the franchise remains in place. Keep reading to learn how to use it.

How to get infinite money in the dead space remake

Here’s the rundown: stand near a shop and a bench, those workstations scattered around the game that allow you to upgrade your weapons and costume. Unload your pulse rifle using its alt fire (R1), which drops a proximity mine that you can convert into ammo (with R1 again), as long as it doesn’t explode. These converted mines will be added to your inventory if you don’t load them into your rifle.

Do not charge them. Sell them for 2,500 credits per lot. It costs 5,000 credits to respec your weapon, and when you specifically target ability upgrades, your weapon will get an auto-reload as part of the upgrade (without using what’s in your inventory or ammo you sold), and more overall ammo space. The more ammo your gun can hold, the more you can sell when you empty it.

That’s the feat – use R1 to empty your rifle, convert mines into sellable ammo, and use the cash to buy more nodes, the game’s upgrade currency, to improve your weapon’s capacity. Even after maxing out all capacity nodes, you can keep buying respecs to restart the process and rack up profits. Repeat until you get bored.

How to Get the Pulse Rifle dead space

The exploit works (it also works with the Line Gun, found in Chapter 4, though the Pulse Rifle offers more ability nodes), but there are undeniably barriers to entry.

First, of course, you need to get the Pulse Rifle, the fastest firearm in the game, which you won’t acquire until Chapter 2, Critical Care.

But once you’re in Chapter 2, the rifle is easy to find. At the very beginning of the chapter, use the Kinesis module you just picked up to move some magnetic boxes. Head up an angled hallway and enter a room marked Medical Tram Station. Come in. There’s a dying security guard (RIP) holding the gun.

As soon as she spits her last breaths, you can take it from her and add it to your weapon wheel (rough).

How To Upgrade Your Benched Weapon

As another Reddit commenter points out, it’s best if you use this exploit after you’ve already gotten seven nodes.

In the rifle upgrade path, seven nodes correspond to four ability upgrades. Having so many ability upgrades ensures that the weapon respec cost won’t exceed or equal the value of the bullets you unload.

Profit!

It is best to use this exploit both near a shop and a bench. At the start of the game, you can find it in the Flight Deck tram station.

However, wherever you choose to sell and upgrade, Moaning Necromorphs will likely flock to you, drawn to your entrepreneurial spirit. If you must take them out and save your skin, be sure to use a weapon other than the Pulse Rifle so you don’t deplete your salable supply.

You can upgrade your rifle upgrade path as you progress dead spacealso.

In Chapter 3, the Kinetic Autoloader Pulse Rifle upgrade becomes available for purchase, and in Chapter 4, once you reach Security Level 3 clearance, you can open a locker in the storage room electric (on the 3rd floor) in the main atrium of the bridge to take the upgrade of the PCSI Custom Magazine pulse rifle, Polygon Remarks. These two upgrades reveal more ability nodes for your rifle, invigorating your new ammo selling business.
